Sandro Parrinello
Coordinator of the European Project for Marie Curie Actions - International Research Staff Exchange Scheme, FP7-PEOPLE-2010-IRSES “Wooden Architecture”. The project involved the interchange of ten researchers from Finland, Russia and Italy, for the realization of survey protocols and wooden architecture documentation, working on study cases of traditional Karelian architecture. Responsible of Heritage documentation projects on monumental and UNESCO sites in Europe, Middle East (Jerusalem, Acre, Jericho, Masada), cooperation projects for Italian Ministry (Bethlehem) and the analysis offortified architectural complexes in Central America (Cuba, Panama, Cartagena de Indias, Santo Domingo).
Research grants
Sandro Parrinello is Associate Professor, afferent to the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture, University of Pavia. He is born in Florence in May 9, 1981, and he graduated with honors in Architecture in 2005, University of Florence, discussing the thesis: Methodologies for the protection and analysis of historical centers: the filing of Montepulciano (SI). Since 2006 he holds a Research Fellow at the Department of Architecture, Drawing, History and Design of University of Florence. Since 2010 he is European Ph.D. in Sciences of Representation and Survey with a thesis entitled Surveying urban green areas. Strategies for representing and understanding data acquisition systems and urban vegetation informations. Since 2011 he is Researcher at the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of University of Pavia; in 2015 he is called by the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture of University of Pavia as Associate Professor.
Since 2012 he is Visiting Professor at Perm National Research Polytechnic University(Russia) and in 2015 he received an honorary degree from State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture of Odessa (Ukraine). Since 2005 he is member of Forum UNESCO with Expert title; in 2011 he is appointed Expert and Voting member, as representative for Italy, to the International Scientific Committee ICOFORT (ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Fortifications and Military Heritage). He is director of the joint Laboratory University-Enterprise “Landscape Survey Design” (headquarters of Pavia) and Laboratory “DAda-Lab, Drawing Architecture and DocumentAction”, University of Pavia.
